Cherry Crisp

A dessert that the whole family will love! Top with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for additional deliciousness.



  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter or margine


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cornstarch
  • 1 cup cherry juice
  • 4 cups pitted tart red cherries


  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 5 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted


  1. In a mixing bowl, combine salt, sugar, and flour; cut in butter. Press into a 2 quart or 11-in x 7-in baking dish. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
  2. For filling, combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. Stir in juice, cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.
  3. Fold in cherries and pour over baked crust.
  4. Combine all topping ingredients and sprinkle over filling.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly around edges.
  6. Let cool for about 5 minutes and cut into 6-8 pieces, whatever is desired. Enjoy!
